Description
phi29 DNA polymerase is derived from the Bacillus subtilis bacteriophage. After genetic engineering, it exhibits excellent strand displacement and processive synthesis capabilities, enabling the synthesis of DNA fragments up to 70 kb in length. Additionally, it possesses strong 3’→5’ exonuclease proofreading activity. Primer 3’ end modifications are recommended in the recommended reaction system to prevent degradation. This enzyme is commonly used in in vitro plasmid synthesis and whole genome amplification.
